I work as a filmmaker, archival-producer, cinematographer and editor in non-fiction films. I started my career as a photojournalist working in the Balkans and the Middle East. I’ve covered the post 2011 revolution in Egypt and worked as creative producer for the Grimme-Prize nominated weekly web series “Jäger & Sammler”, commissioned by ZDF.
My first short film “Concerned Travelers” premiered at the International Short Film Festival Detmold. My second short film “Viva House”, about a food pantry in Southwest Baltimore, was screened in Baltimore and at the San Francisco Urban Film Festival in 2018.
Since 2014, I have worked on various productions for German and International broadcasters such as Arte, National Geographic, YouTube Originals, ZDF among others. During that time I have organized, produced and directed film shootings from Japan to Bermuda. I was nominated twice for the prestigious German Grimme-Prize as a journalist and producer. My debut feature length documentary "An Hour from the Middle of Nowhere" had its US premiere at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and it won the Gesa-Rautenberg-Award for the best feature length film at the Filmfest Schleswig-Holstein.
